Biographies

Chrisoula Kombotis, Violin: 

Born in Vienna; graduate of the Vienna Conservatory of Music (Prof. Thomas Christian and Prof. Werner Hink (concert master of the Vienna Philharmonics)).

1996 Award winner at the Chamber music festival Allegro Vivo.

1997 State exam at the Vienna Conservatory of Music.

Section leader at the Wiener Kammeroper, at the Sinfonietta Baden, and at the orchestra of the Seefestspiele Moerbisch. Performances of chamber music in Austria and abroad (Paris, Koeln, Mannheim, Peking).

1997 founder of the "Gloriette quartet", regular concerts.

Since 1998 member of the Johann Strauss ensemble, international tours (Japan, Belgium, Germany, Italy,…).

Assistant of Alfred Pfleger and Howard Penny at the chamber music course at Burg Feistritz.


Sabine Schier, Harmonica and Vocals: 

Born in Vienna, first accordion lessons at the age of seven at the Rudolfsheim-Fuenfhaus music school.

Graduate of the Vienna Conservatory of Music: accordion (Prof. Gertraud Winklbauer- Zourek: instrumental pedagogics) and piano (Prof. Rima Vernik).

1998 state exam: instrumental pedagogigs/harmonica, post-graduate studies: accordion (concert department).

Since 1994 voice studies with Prof. Duevell-Zollner and master classes with Prof. Ingeborg Wamser.

Member of the Wiedner Musikensemble and founder of the Wiener Maedl Trio.

Accordion soloist of the "Helios Theater" in Vienna. Various guest performances all over Austria.


Waltraud Rabl, Contraguitar: 

Born in Vienna, first guitar lessons at the age of eight at the Margareten music school.

Graduate of the Vienna Conservatory of Music (instrumental pedagogics: concert guitar).

1983 state exam.

Numerous performances as a soloist, e.g. at the Wiener Festwochen. Member of various ensembles and orchestras (e.g. Wiener Volksoper). Radio- and TV-recordings.

Guest performances in Austria and abroad with the "Margaretner Schrammeltrio".

1983 - 1990 various performances with the "Penzinger Salonschrammeln".

Since 1998 member of the "Wiener Frauen Schrammeln".
